The Royal Danish Library consisting of 18 research and academic libraries are building their future with Nexbib
This Autumn, the comprehensive modernisation project of the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen, including the world-renowned Black Diamond, was chosen in favour of Nexbib. The use of sustainable, modular technologies to ensure energy-saving, climate-friendly and accessible operation were important factors in the tender process. Height-adjustable Nex.Kiosk Nordic self-service kiosks are used, as well as state-of-the-art Nex.Gate Diamond security gates. At the staff counters, minimalistic Nex.Stations All-in-One will enable an efficient workflow.
The Danish National Library, the Royal Danish Library is among the most considerable libraries in Scandinavia and even is one of the largest libraries in the world.
"We have set a high value on a prospective sustainability of our RFID solutions. This starts with resource-saving, local production, the choice of environmentally sustainable, certified materials and extends to key aspects such as ergonomics and a high level of serviceability," explains Sven Mønsted Hilm, Managing Director, Nexbib Denmark. "We are pleased that we were able to score particularly well with these factors in the evaluation and that we were thus able to meet the Danish Royal Library's ambitious climate strategy."
Kira Stine Hansen, Deputy Director at The Royal Danish Library, comments: "Nexbib's forward-looking and flexible technologies will enable us to operate in a climate-friendly way in the long term in the interest of our partners and users. We are looking forward to working with Nexbib’s experienced and visionary team." Also, part of the complex tender was a dedicated service and support contract.
After targeted project planning and close coordination with the libraries involved, the individual modernisation works will be implemented from 2024.
